Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd., (hereinafter “Konami,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) recognizes the importance of personal information, as well as information that, while not identifying any particular individual, can be, in a certain way, identified as information relating to a particular anonymous individual (hereinafter collectively “Information”), and Konami will handle Information in compliance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, other relevant legislation, and guidelines prescribed by the competent authorities under the following policy:
This Policy does not apply to any services or products for which we individually present a separate policy on the handling of Information because they are governed by such separate policy presented by us individually.
Konami will obtain by legal and fair means Information specified by the Information Handling Policy.
Konami will use Information collected by us for the purposes specified by the Information Handling Policy. If Information needs to be used for any purpose other than the specified purposes, Konami will, prior to use, revise the purposes of use specified in the Information Handling Policy.
As a rule, Konami will not provide Information to third parties, except where we obtain the consent of the person concerned; the Information Handling Policy provides for otherwise; the Information is transferred due to an organizational restructuring; Konami is required to disclose it under legislation; or disclosure is ordered by a judicial or administrative authority.
Konami will use Information specified by the Information Handling Policy for the purposes specified in the Information Handling Policy, jointly with the companies of the Konami Group (i.e., companies in which KONAMI HOLDINGS CORPORATION has a direct or indirect stake that are, specifically, those listed here; the same applies hereinafter). In these cases, a company of the Konami Group that receives Information will use and manage it in accordance with this Policy. With respect to such joint use, KONAMI HOLDINGS CORPORATION will be responsible for the management.
Konami may outsource the handling of Information to the outsourcing contractor of our business in order to achieve the purposes specified in the Information Handling Policy. Such consignee may include a third party providing services for advertising and publicity, data analysis, and so forth.
If a customer wishes disclosure, correction, removal, discontinuation of use, or any other disposition of personal information provided by the customer, the customer will submit an application through the procedure specified by the Information Handling Policy, and we will promptly respond to such request and application.
However, if the owner of such personal information cannot be identified, or because of other circumstances, we may be unable to respond to such request by a customer.
If a customer asks Konami to remove or discontinue using the personal information necessary for the provision of our services, Konami may no longer be able to provide the services.
For the handling of the Information of customers, our control division will implement appropriate management, including over a consignee. We will take safety precautions at a level that is appropriate and reasonable against leakage to the outside and risks of unauthorized access from the outside so that customers’ Information will be protected.
This Policy may be subject to a revision. This Policy so revised will become effective from the date of publication on this site.
